ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has been rescheduled for Thursday (Jan 28) to take up seven-point agenda, including the Ministry of Industries and Production’s proposal regarding consumption of subsidy on essential commodities.
The meeting to be presided over by Minister for Finance and Revenue, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh would take up the Ministry of Interior technical supplementary grant for the surrendered amount of Rs42.000 million by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research under National Program for Enhancing Command Areas in Barani Areas Project (ICT Component).
The ECC would also take up the Petroleum Division’s proposals for allocation of gas from Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL)’s wells to the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) under commercial production as well as to review the oil marketing companies (OMCs) and dealers’ margins on petroleum products.
The ECC will also take up the Power Division’s proposal for approval of Implementation Agreement, Supplemental Agreement and Power Purchase Agreement for 300MW Coal Power Project at Gwadar; and the Ministry of Industries and Production’s proposal regarding consumption of subsidy on essential commodities from 1st July, 2020, onward under the Prime Minister's Relief Package – 2020.
The ECC will also take up the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony’s proposal Approval of Zaireen Management Policy-A Regulatory Framework, and Commerce Ministry’s Textiles and Apparel Policy, 2020-25.
The ECC meeting convened on Wednesday could not take place and was deferred till today because the finance minister and other members of the ECC had to attend the PTI’s parliamentary party meeting presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Parliament.
