Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Monday asked the counsel to come on Tuesday next and help to resolve the matter of suspension of licenses of some lawyers including Vice President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Imrana Perveen Baloch.
Imrana Perveen Baloch has challenged the Punjab Bar Council (PBC) order suspending the licenses of three female lawyers, including the petitioner, Humera Bashir and Shakeela Rana. She said six members of the PBC, including Executive Committee Chairman Rana Muhammad Asif Saeed, on July 7 illegally detained three women, including a complainant Humera Bashir, and used abusive language with them besides harassing them. The ladies were protesting against restoration of license of Rana Altaf. Humera had submitted a complaint against Altaf accusing him of torturing her.
