PCGA announces election schedule

Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA)'s Central Executive Committee has announced the schedule for the election 2012-13. It said election for the chairman and vice chairmen of PCGA would be held on September 14 and CEC has issued the list of eligible voters and formed an election committee headed by Sheikh Muhammad Saeed Chief Election Commissioner, Sajjad Hussain Goraya, and Mehfooz Ahmed Bajwa its members.
Muhammad Asif Khalil, secretary general of PCGA and Tauqeer Shah would be returning officer and deputy returning officer. The 15 member out of 30 member central committee would lose their offices this year. They are Amanullah Qureshi sitting Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmed Baloch, Muhammad Arif Aziz, Malik Amjad Farooq Khandwa, Haji Haq Nawaz Puniyan, Chaudhry Khalid Javed, Ehsan-ul-Haq, Talib Hussain, Jehanzeb Saeed, Shaikh Muhammad Ayyub, Mian Akhtar Javed, Ghulam Sarwar, Zafar-ul-Huda Siddiqui, Girdhari lal and Deleep Kumar. Following 15 members would stay as member of CEC for next Farooq, Athar Farooq, Khawaja Muhammad Ilyas, Malik Sarfraz Nazim, Waheed Arshad, Suhail Mehmood Haral, Luddo Mal and Nawab Abdul Sattar.
The CEC approved the appointment of election commission, returning officers, election rules. The CEC also reviewed the forthcoming cotton season and hoped that cotton production would be better inspite of water shortage and not achievement of sowing targets.
The (Sschedul) membership forms may be submitted till July 14. Objections on the list of eligible voters would be entertained till July 21, Decision of rejection or acceptance of objections on July 25. Appeal against the decision of secretary General on July 28.
Election commission will give decision on appeals on August Ist. Appeal against the election commission decision before the Director General Trade organisations on August 4, He will decide these appeals till August 9. Then final list of eligible voters would be displayed on August 11. The candidature for CEC's 15 seat would be accepted till August 15, scrutiny of nomination papers on August 16, appeals against the acceptance or rejection of candidatures on August 17, election commission would give decision on the appeals against the scrutiny committee's decision on August 23.
Decision of election commission could be challenged before the DG TO till August 27, Decision on these appeals on September Ist. Withdrawal of papers on September Ist. Final list of candidates would be published on September 3rd, Elections in North, south zone on September 8. Official result will be notified on September 10. Nomination papers for Chairman, and two vice chairmen may be submitted on September 11, scrutiny of nomination papers on September 12, Election on September 14 in PCGA house, Multan.
