ISLAMABAD: Akbar Sher Babar, the petitioner against ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the foreign funding case, moved a petition in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Wednesday to direct the Scrutiny Committee hearing this case to reveal PTI’s ‘secret’ bank accounts’ details of the last three years.

The petition requests ECP to direct Scrutiny Committee to share with the petitioner all the relevant record, including bank statements.

“The Scrutiny Committee’s mandate is fact-finding not fact-hiding,” Babar told media persons outside ECP. He said the Scrutiny Committee’s order to keep the three-year accounts details of PTI secret is “illegal” and the Committee “does not have any authority” to hide any information related to the case.

He said the four employees of PTI Central Secretariat received foreign funding in their personal bank accounts due to the involvement of six PTI leaders.
