ANP chief tests positive for Covid-19

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) president Asfandyar Wali Khan has tested positive for Covid-19, the party’s provincial president Aimal Wali Khan revealed in a statement here on Sunday.

Following the doctors’ advice, the party has postponed all of its scheduled meetings including ‘Da Ghani Mela.’ It was stated that new dates would be announced later.

The ANP chief has quarantined himself at Wali Bagh Charsadda.

The party’s central senior vice president Amir Haider Khan Hoti, central secretary information Zahid Khan, provincial president Aimal Wali Khan in separate statements have requested prayers for speedy recovery of the party chief. Earlier, ANP had announced a schedule of several meetings including its provincial cabinet, provincial working committee and provincial council on Mar 15, 16, 17 respectively to discuss the prevailing political situation and party’s organizational issues.
