KARACHI: After market close on Monday, Pakistan Rupee went up against USD in inter-bank market while going up for buying in open market and going down for selling. PKR also went up against Euro, AED and SR in Pakistani open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the inter-bank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 20 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling against USD over last week’s rates closing at 156.90 and 157.10 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 10 paisas for buying while losing 20 paisas for selling against USD over last week’s rates closing at 157 and 157.50 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR gained 20 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 186.30 and 187.80 respectively. Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 10 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling closing at 42.60 and 42.90 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 5 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling closing at 41.65 and 41.90 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth in the process of trading against the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Monday.
Amid lack of the buying spree in the market, the greenback commenced trading on a negative note and kept on declining throughout the trading session. Consequently, the dollar closed lower for buying and selling at Rs 157.00 and Rs 158.20 against the previous closing rate of Rs 157.10 and Rs 158.40 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Similarly, the rupee also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 217.20 and Rs 218.40 against Friday’s closing trend of Rs 217.80 and Rs 219.50 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.
The dollar opened Rs 157.60(buying) and Rs 157.70(selling) against same last rate.
It closed at 157.60(buying) and Rs 157.70(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 102,100 (selling) and Rs102,000(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
