The Cabinet Sub-Committee on Balochistan on Monday decided to visit Quetta in coming days to have concrete discussion with all the stakeholders of Balochistan issue. The Committee would also meet various functionaries of Balochistan including the Chief Minister, Governor, Chief Secretary, Inspector General, FC and IG Police as soon as possible
The decision to this effect was taken at the first meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee held here in the Committee Room of Cabinet Division. Minister for Defence, Syed Naveed Qamar chaired the meeting while Minister for Law and Justice, Farooq H. Naek, Minister for Postal Services, Sardar Al-Haj Muhammad Umar Gorgeij and Secretary Defence also attended the meeting.
The participants of the meeting examined various options available with the Federal and Provincial Government for improving law and order situation in Balochistan. The Law Minister presented the constitutional position to the Committee and explained how provincial government could be assisted in this matter.
The Committee would visit Quetta in the coming days to have concrete discussions with all the stakeholders of the issue. It was emphasised that all decisions would be taken in consultation with provincial authorities and all possible assistance, after identifying weak areas, would be provided to them in this regard.
It was also decided that the Committee would be meeting on daily basis in order to present its report to the Cabinet within the stipulated time.
