The Lahore High Court here on Monday issued notice for August 8 in a petition filed against loadshedding during the Sehri, Iftar and prayer timings. Petitioner Chairman Judicial Activism Penal contended that people were already facing hardships due to loadshedding, but loadshedding during Sehri, Itfar and prayer timing had increased their problems. He also prayed to the court to direct the respondents hold loadshedding without discrimination.
The petitioner was of the view that the Prime Minister House, President House, Governor House and others such authorities were not facing loadshedding. He also contended that people of Punjab paying maximum revenue to Wapda but facing maximum loadshedding than other provinces.
He therefore prayed to the court to declare discrimination in the loadshedding as illegal. The court observed that government should provide electricity supply to all the provinces equally and it should not behave discriminately and issued notices in the petition to the respondents for August 8.
