Loadshedding: Shahbaz criticises Zardari's 'vindictive' attitude towards Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that energy crisis in the country and agonising loadshedding is a towering "achievement" of Ali Baba and Forty Thieves. He said that 18 hours long loadshedding in Punjab was reflective of Zardari's vindictive attitude towards the people of Punjab.
Shahbaz Sharif said those who accused him of provincialism must realise that he was first and foremost a Pakistani, and reminded that Punjab had sacrificed its share of Rs 11 billion for the approval of NFC Award, which was not provincialism but an unparalleled example of national solidarity, unity and brotherhood.
While addressing the people protesting over prolonged loadshedding at Kot Lakhpat here on Tuesday, the CM said that sheer injustice was being done to Punjab in regard to loadshedding. He said in Karachi which was the city of lights, industries operated six days a week while in Punjab they operated only three days a week. When the cities of Punjab were subjected to loadshedding upto 18 hours while there was no loadshedding in Karachi even for a single day, then how it could be termed as uniform loadshedding, he added.
The CM warned the Zardari gang that their vindictive actions against the people of Punjab would prove to them highly costly, and said rulers of Islamabad had pushed the country into darkness through their dark deeds which had resulted in painful loadshedding. He said energy crisis was the direct result of loot and plunder and incompetence of corrupt mafia.
The CM said that soon the darkness in the country would be removed and under the dynamic leadership of President Pakistan Muslim League-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif the country would see the light of the day. Member National Assembly Mian Naseer Ahmad Bhutta and Members of Provincial Assembly were also present on the occasion. The protesters raised the slogans of "Go Zardari go".
