KARACHI: Patron in Chief of United Business Group (UBG) and Former President of FPCCI, S M Muneer has emphasised that increase in oil, gas and electricity rates should be avoided and the burden of inflation on the poor should be reduced.

He said that traders, industrialists and exporters are doing jihad while continuing their business even in the most difficult conditions.

Talking to newsmen at inauguration of UBG secretariat at Sindh Muslim Cooperative Housing Society, he said business community is waiting for better days.

Due to the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the country’s exports are increasing, he said.

Referring to setting up of Secretariat, he said that by setting up UBG Secretariat, we will be in touch with all trade bodies, chambers and associations.

Various committees will be formed and their meetings will be held on regular basses. Youth and women will be included in these committees, he said.

S M Muneer said that the Secretariat has given responsibilities to motivate youth in all the cities of Pakistan to play an active role to boost economic activities.

In order to keep in touch with our business community and continue their struggle to solve their problems, we planted a small plant in the form of UBG which has become a thriving tree today. A highly educated Secretary General will also perform his duties in the Secretariat, he added.

Secretary General UBG Zubair Tufail said that we will continue to cooperate with the government to strengthen the country.

He said that the UBG Secretariat under the leadership of S M Muneer could find out problems of business and industrial community and bring them to the notice of the government.

The UBG Secretariat will also be set up in the remaining three provinces namely Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan where we will get feedback on government policies from all trade bodies and present their suggestions to the government.

The federation is not paying attention to the issues of business community that is why we have set up a UBG Secretariat which will discuss issues including budget, taxes, investment, exports, tariff, custom and other issues and prepare suggestion for consideration of concern government department to get them resolved.
