KARACHI: Allied Bank has won the award for Pakistan’s Best Bank for CSR 2021 by the Asiamoney, a leader in global publication, for a second time for its commitment to socially uplift the community through various initiatives; especially in the light of the ongoing Covid pandemic.
The publication, in its annual declarations, identified the banks in each of the six markets in Asia-Pacific that excelled across a range of core banking activities, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Allied Bank had previously won the award for Pakistan’s Best Bank for CSR in 2018 as well.
Asiamoney appreciated the Bank’s contribution especially with respect to the Covid-related medical support of Rs 10 million ($63,700) for its employees and their dependents on top of the roughly RS 100 million it spends every year for various health bene?ts. In all, spending on health doubled, compared to 2019.
Allied Bank, led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Aizid Razzaq Gill, spent about Rs 23 billion in various social projects spanning over health, education and general community welfare, including donations and sponsorships.—PR
