KARACHI: All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA) has decided to establish ‘Trade Facilitation Cell (TFC)’ to assist the business community during the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to details, Amjad Chaudary, chairman APCAA has approved the establishment of TFC, which would be supervised by the senior vice chairman Arshad Jamal.
Meanwhile, Arshad Jamal said that taxpayers from the service sector were facing immense difficulties due to smuggling, corruption, and pandemic; hence, they preferred to keep themselves distanced from the tax net.
Therefore, APCAA has decided to play its role only to ensure trade facilitation and assist the tax authority in fine revenue collection through TFC.
“Prior to the pandemic, the traders have faced severe financial shocks due to unfriendly
policies,” he said. Furthermore, he said they were presently drafting TFC’s working strategy and would soon announce its representatives for different cities countrywide.
