ISLAMABAD: The US president’s special envoy for climate, John Kerry would skip Pakistan in his trip to the region, including India and Bangladesh to discuss climate crisis.

In a statement, the US State Department stated that Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry will travel to Abu Dhabi, New Delhi, and Dhaka on April 1-9 for consultations on increasing climate ambition ahead of President Biden’s Leaders’ Summit on Climate (April 22-23) and the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change later this year.

Earlier, the US President Biden has extended invitation to leaders from 40 countries, India and Bangladesh to next month’s ‘Leaders Summit on Climate,’ skipping Pakistan to be invited to the Summit.
