City District Government Lahore (CDGL) officers have been given 48 hours to redress complaints lodged by Lahoritis. Commissioner Lahore Division, Jawad Rafique Malik gave the deadline while listening to the complaints of people at an open kutchery here on Wednesday, disclosed an official.
A total of 26 complaints were lodged to the Commissioner, which mostly related to faulty sewerage system, non-availability of water, street lights, speed-breakers, land grabbers and police department. On the occasion, the Commissioner issued at the spot orders to redress the complaints and made it clear that the public servants were meant to serve the masses and there would be no leniency for the public servants if found guilty of dereliction.
He pointed out that the main objective of open kutcheries is to solve the problems not only being faced by the people but to take action against the officers and officials involved in harrying and worrying of the people. The Commissioner, taking an action on a complaint lodged by a resident of Union Council 80, ordered the Director WASA to take action against the WASA officials involved in taking money from the people for clearing the sewerage.
