Schematic assimilation of technology up-gradation and pertinent skill development breakthrough the economic accession of the country. The notion laid down the rudiments of TUSDEC in 2005 and the organisation materialised as a wholly owned subsidiary of Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd. (PIDC) under a public-private partnership with a paid up capital of Rs 150 Million.
TUSDEC Board of Directors constitute one third of its members from public sector and the remaining two third represent the private sector inclusive of the company's Chairman and CEO.
TUSDEC has been envisaged primarily to up-grade technology and allied skills in the aim of enhancing creativity , innovation, precision production , competitiveness and entrepreneurship in various key industrial clusters of Pakistan. Since its inception TUSDEC has initiated and accomplished numerous projects which include, Karachi Tools Dies & Moulds Centre, Gujranwala Tools Dies & Moulds Centre, Skill Development Centres in the earthquake affected northern areas which have produced above 6000 graduates to date, Ceramics Development & Testing Complex at Gujranwala, Technical Upgradation of Garment Industry and National Institute of Design & Analysis in 5 mega cities which have trained above 9000 students and industry personnel in advance CAD/CAM applications. These Common Facility Centres induce neoteric technological advancements as well as assist the enterprises/ industries with the provision of skilful and agile human resource, further bricking the wall of social progression.
In order to effectuate its efforts TUSDEC has been entering into formidable associations with multiple non-profit organisations and key industrial players. TUSDEC has successfully conducted FDP-LD (FATA Development Program for Livelihood Development), a project sponsored by USAID. In addition to this, TUSDEC has coincided with BISP - Benazir Income Support Fund & BBSYDP - Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program, SZABIST Hyderabad and NAVTTC - National Vocational & Technical Training Commission while entering into a 5 years MoU with Engro Foundation. During the progression of TUGi - Technological Upgradation of Garment Industry, TUSDEC partnered with top of the line exporters of garment industry such as Chenab Limited, Crescent Bahuman, KAY & EMMS Private Limited who lauded the ingenious pursuits of TUSDEC for the garment industry of Pakistan.
In collaboration with PSDF, TUSDEC has imparted skill development courses in southern Punjab intending towards poverty alleviation by enabling livelihood opportunities for the vulnerable communities. In another co-action vocational training courses have been disseminated in Dharki, Ghotki Sindh and the archetype is going to be delineated in other marginalized areas.
In the very postulation of its mission TUSDEC has been contemplating further projects of technological reform and skill development prevalent at the verge of instigation.
