KTDMC was incorporated as a "non-profit" organisation in 2006 under the Government's Public-Private Partnership program and registered under the Companies Ordinance 1984. KTDMC was sponsored by Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), and the project was executed by Technology Up-gradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC).
KTDMC is being managed by an independent Board of Directors comprising of a majority of techno-preneurs from the private sector.
KTDMC's primary objective is to train professionals, enhance quality of designing, engineering and manufacturing of tools, dies and moulds especially for aluminium die casting, Plastic through latest technologies including computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and computer aided engineering (CAE). This is particularly important for the small and medium size businesses which cannot otherwise afford large investments to set up such facilities for themselves.
On its production side, KTDMC also offers Heat Treatment and Reverse Engineering facilities in Pakistan and is well equipped with hi-tech vacuum hardening, vacuum nitriding furnaces imported from Europe as well as 3D Scanner and CMM Machine for Reverse Engineering / Inspection and verification.
With these state-of-the-art equipments, KTDMC is striving to enable local industry to produce Tools, Dies & Moulds (TDM) of international quality and assist local industry in producing high quality TDM products, with direct benefits of foreign exchange savings for the country.
In the Training Department, KTDMC offers specialised training programs for students and professionals who wish to excel in the field of Dies and Moulds.
In this regard, for the first time in Pakistan, KTDMC introduced Teaching Factory Concept, where students are trained in live factory environment. As a result, after successful completion of a course, the student is fully equipped in both theoretical as well as practical aspects of his field.
KTDMC has the capacity to raise the skill levels of more than 300 professionals /workers / students annually, at highly subsidised fee structures This in turn generates employment and increases the standard of living of Pakistanis, specially the under privileged class, who otherwise cannot afford higher education.
KTDMC offers following courses and diplomas:
-- Three years Diploma of Associate Engineering in Dies and Moulds Technology (Affiliated with Sindh Board of Technical Education)
-- One Year Specialised Diploma In Dies & Moulds Technology (Affiliated with Sindh Board of Technical Education)
-- Short courses:
KTDMC also offers customised programs/short courses for its clients, which are tailor made to the requirements of the industry, in terms of course contents, days and timings.
2. ACHIEVEMENTS
