PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise and Taxation Department has successfully collected Rs 3000 million revenue in the current fiscal year out of total Rs3500 million revenue target assigned to the department.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise and Taxation Department Khaliq ur Rehman directed the officials of the department to expedite work on Universal Registration of Vehicles to further increase revenue collection.
“We need to build tax culture in the province and for that we should strengthen our contacts with the line departments,” he said while chairing a meeting of the department, according to an official communique issued here on Wednesday.
The minister stressed that generating more and more revenue would make the government resourceful to spend on public uplift schemes.
“With revenue generation our main objective is to facilitate the public for which the Digitization of property tax system is needed and Digitization of Excise Department would be our utmost priority,” he said.
