Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has organised Bachat Bazaar to provide better quality items to citizens on discounted rates. While inaugurating Eid Discount Family Festival held in the City Auditorium at Ayesha Manzil, Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed said that the purpose of Bachat Bazaar was to provide citizens everything under one roof.
He was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Central Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman, Sr. Director E&IP Shoaib Waqar, Sr. Director Sports, Culture and Recreation Muhamamad Rehan Khan and Organizer of Bachat Bazaar Sajid Bhatti whereas renowned artists and a good number of citizens were also present on the occasion.
The Eid Discount Family Bachat Festival would be continued till Chand Raat. Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed said KMC was also setting up outlets at different locations in the city where the citizens would have well standard meat and fresh milk on 10 rupees less than the market rates whereas model Bachat Bazaars were also being established to provide better quality items to citizens on discounted rates.
He said that in this era of competition, the Bachat Bazaars must focus on providing better quality items to consumers on lesser rates as only this way they could compete with the departmental stores already established in the city. Administrator Karachi said besides carrying out development works in city, KMC was also promoting and encouraging literary, cultural and artistic activities in the city. The citizens were provided with better recreation facilities in Karachi Zoo and Safari Park with the induction of more animals and birds.
KMC had also organised Summer Camps on four different locations which were attended by thousands of students and they availed the opportunity to showcase their talent in a better manner. He said the holding of sports and cultural activities were aimed at improving the soft image of the city and to create favourable environment for investment in city by nationals and foreigners.
