Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Federal Interior Minister, Rehman Malik Monday co-chaired law and order meeting held at CM House here. The meeting was attended among others by Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Siddique Memon, Secretary Home Sindh Rizwan Memon, I.G Police Sindh Fayaz Ahmed Leghari, said a statement.
Sindh CM said that the law and order situation has rapidly improved in Karachi with concerted efforts of Police, Rangers, law enforcement agencies and co-operation of general public and it is hoped that law enforcement agencies would continue efforts for control the law and order. Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that the objective of criminals was to destabilise Karachi, while there is clear warning to target killers and extortionist including their masters to finish their criminal activities and should surrender before government else prompt action is waiting for them.
He said that every killing is not targeted killing and this message is for all. The meeting was informed that a large number of criminals have been arrested by Police and Rangers, in all 133 extortionists have been arrested and Police and Rangers have been further directed to continue their action.
It was informed that during recent action criminals and extortionists prevailing since last few months, 55 policemen and two rangers were martyred. The meeting appreciated the efforts of Rangers and Police and it was marked with satisfaction that there has been no target killing for the last 48-hours, while the Police and Rangers will continue their action.
It was also decided to enhance the security of the foreign workers. It was informed that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority will supply CDR record to the respective IG Sindh Police and Ministry of Interior will ensure that the CDRs are provided.-PR
