ISLAMABAD: The national Covid-19 positivity ratio, Thursday, declined to 4.35 percent as the country recorded 2,726 cases after 62,706 tests were conducted, while 75 coronavirus patients died and 3,901 patients recovered.

The NCOC said that at present, there are 59,018 total active Covid-19 cases in the country.

The 4.35 percent positivity rate is the lowest in the past 12 weeks as the country during the third wave on March 6 recorded 4.2 percent positivity ratio.

Health authorities carried out 62,706 Covid-19 tests across the country, including 22,043 in Sindh, 24,914 in Punjab, 7,771 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 5,177 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 1,418 in Balochistan, 907 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and 476 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

A total of 13,006,326 corona tests have been conducted so far, while 639 hospitals are equipped with Covid-19 facilities.

Some 4,496 corona patients were admitted in hospitals of which 4,109 are in critical care units (ICUs) across the country.

Out of 75 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, 68 were under treatment in hospitals of which seven at quarantines centres or homes.

Punjab, Sindh, and KP remained the most Covid-19 affected areas in the past 24 hours as Punjab recorded 24 deaths, Sindh 24 and KP reported 19 deaths.

Since the pandemic outbreak, Pakistan has detected a total of 911,320 Covid-19 cases including deaths, recoveries, and under treatment patients.

Punjab with 337,073 cases is on top followed by Sindh with 313,059 cases, KP with 131,027 cases, ICT with 80,779 cases, Balochistan with 24,823 cases, AJK with 19,008 cases, and GB 5,533 cases.

Of the 20,540 deaths recorded nationwide, Punjab with 9,899 deaths is on top followed by Sindh with 4,966 deaths, KP 4,009 deaths, ICT 751 deaths of which three deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, AJK with 535 deaths of which three deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, Balochistan with 273 deaths of which two death were recorded in the past 24 hours, and GB with 107 deaths.

Nationwide 502 ventilators were occupied, while no Covid-affected person was on ventilator in AJK, GB, and Balochistan.

Multan with 66 percent ventilator occupancy is on top followed by Lahore with 42 percent occupancy, Bahawalpur 38 percent and Peshawar 34 percent.

Multan with 54 percent occupancy of oxygen beds is on top followed by Gujranwala with 46 percent, Swabi 44 percent and Bahawalpur 37 percent.
