(Karachi) Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that the Sindh government is going to ease Covid-19 restrictions in the province to facilitate the people.

Addressing a press briefing after inaugurating a vaccination hall at Expo Centre Karachi on Sunday, Murad said that the coronavirus death ratio in Sindh is lower and the recovery rate is higher. He stated that the Covid pandemic is not over yet, urging the public to follow health-related SOPs.

He maintained that the province is vaccinating 100,000 people per day and they are planning to increase the number up to 200,000. He said that schools will reopen once all teachers are vaccinated.

The chief minister highlighted that 90 percent of the health workers have been vaccinated against the deadly disease. He warned, “The salaries of government employees will be seized if they deny receiving vaccine jab.”

Murad said that the provincial task force on coronavirus is meeting today and decisions regarding relaxing Covid-19 restrictions will be taken after consultation with the stakeholders.

Shah said he has written a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan complaining that the federal government has ignored projects for Sindh in the public development program. “We are happy to see that development is taking place at a fast pace in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan but Sindh should also not be neglected,” he remarked.
