ISLAMABAD: In a surprise move, the federal government has transferred Wajid Zia and appointed Sanaullah Abbasi as new director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Some reports state that the decision to replace Wajid Zia before the announcement of the federal budget is surprising as he is investigating important cases including sugar, which allegedly involves Jahagir Tareen.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The federal government has appointed Wajid Zia to the post of head of the National Police Bureau.
The federal cabinet approved this important decision through a circulation summary. Commandant FC Moazzam Jah Ansari has been appointed as the new IG Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, while Salahuddin Mehsud has been approved to be appointed as Commandant FC.
