Naqeebullah case: FIR filed against two for ‘helping’ SHO Shaikh flee
An FIR was filed on Friday at Gulshan-e-Maymar police station in Karachi against two suspects for allegedly aiding SHO Shoaib Shaikh in fleeing, who is one of the primary accused in the ‘extra judicial murder’ of Naqeebullah Mehsud.
The FIR has been lodged against Aurangzeb Khan and Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Ehsanullah Marwat for helping Shaikh alias Shoaib 'Shooter' in escaping to Lahore, local media reported. According to police officials, Khan and Marwat helped Shaikh by taking him to Hyderabad from where Shaikh traveled to Lahore via train.
In a raid on Friday night, police arrested Khan Janjhal Goth whereas Marwat managed to escape.
Police arrest close aid of Rao Anwar in Naqeebullah murder case
The absconder, who is a close aid of the former Malir Senior Superintendent of Police Rao Anwar, is accused of being involved in the police encounter inwhich Naqeebullah was killed.
On February 20, police arrested Deputy Superintendent of Police Qamar Ahmed, another close aid of Anwar, for not giving satisfactory answers regarding the murder investigation.
All the accused are wanted in the ‘extra judicial murder’ of 27-year-old Naqeebullah, a native of Waziristan. He was killed, along with three other suspected terrorists, on January 13 in an alleged encounter with a police team headed by Anwar. However, Naqeebullah’s family has claimed that the deceased was innocent and was killed in a ‘fake’ encounter.
