"Pakistan and Sudan have important strategic value in their own regions, but they are unfairly treated by western powers and international media. Pakistan and Sudan have similar features, while it is extremely important for both the countries to make the bilateral relations further stronger. Educational and research linkages between Pakistan and Sudanese institutions can play pivotal role to bring both the countries more close to each other."
These views were expressed by speakers at an Iftar-Dinner held in the honour of Ambassador of Sudan Al-Sahie Ahemd Muhammad at International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), Karachi University (KU) on August 7, 2012. The ambassador said that Pakistan and Sudan had religious and cultural relations. Sudan can be commercial hub for Pakistan to reach other African countries, he said. In Sudan lot of Sudanese love to read the poetry of Allama Iqbal, which shows that Sudanese have good image of Pakistan, he said.
KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Qaiser said that there was dire need to bring Pakistanis and Sudanese more close to each other. He maintained that educational and research linkages should be developed between both the countries. KU chief thanked the ambassador for paying visit to Karachi University.-PR
