The Karachi Port handled 56,385 tonnes of cargo comprising 41,132 tonnes of import cargo and 15,253 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 41,132 tonnes comprised of 12,042 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,604 tonnes of general cargo and 27,486 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 15,253 tonnes comprised of 9,236 tonnes of containerised cargo; 225 tonnes of general cargo; 5,192 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,146 tonnes of cement; 4,046 tonnes of corn and 600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Three ships namely Bruno Schulte, Oriental Marguerite and CPO Japan with one container ship and two oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Tessa, APL Brisbane, Al-Soor-II and Admire Coral carrying two container ships, one oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Bunga Azalea and Admire Coral carrying one oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while three ships namely Tessa, APL Brisbane and Buxtaurus with three container ships respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
A container vessel viz Buxtaurus due to arrive on Thursday, while six vessels viz APL Guangzhou, Lodestar Genesis, MT Quetta, Saanguine, Agonistis and Invicta carrying one container ship, one chemicals carrier, one crude oil tanker, two coal carriers and one cement carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 95,756 tonnes comprising 40,731 tonnes of import cargo and 55,025 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 4,130 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 40,731 tonnes includes 322 tonnes of project cargo; 10,527 tonnes of chemicals; 1,819 tonnes of fertiliser and 28,063 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 55,025 tonnes includes 4,618 tonnes of cement and 50,407 tonnes of containerised cargo. A total number of 4,130 containers comprising 1,477 containers import and 2,653 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
Two ships namely CV CMA CGM Ravel and MV Glory carrying containers and phosphoric acid sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, during last 24 hours, while another ship namely CV CMA CGM Puccini with containers is expected to sail the same day afternoon. A total number of six vessels viz CV CMA CGM Puccini, CV CMA CGM Ravel, MV Hawk, MV K Coral, MV Keitum and MV Glory are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, fertiliser, project cargo and phosphoric acid respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as three ships namely Theresa Dumci, Norgas Napa and Anoushka with palm oil, chemicals and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of four vessels viz CV Hammonia Pacificum, MT Theresa Dumci, MV Norgas Napa and MT Baltic carrying containers, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday. A container ship namely CV NYK Kai due to arrive on Thursday, while two more ships namely CV Asian Trader and CV MSC Jade carrying containers are due to arrive on Friday.
