KARACHI: President of Korangi association of Trade and industry (KATI), Saleem-uz-Zaman has said that at a time when the nation was facing an epidemic like Corona, the role of scholars and community elders is very important to urge the people to get vaccinated.
He further said that more than 65,000 people had been vaccinated in Korangi industrial area. He said people should protect themselves and their families.
He said this during a visit to Faizan-e-Madina, the centre of Dawat-e-Islami. He visited different departments of the centre and appreciated their services. He said that the service of Dawa-e-Islami in the country is commendable. He noted that effective measures are being taken for welfare of masses and emphasis is being laid on the service of humanity along with the preaching of religion.
Saleem-uz-Zaman said Islam is the only religion that gives equal rights to every human being and preaches moderation. In this regard, the role of Dawat-e-Islami is of utmost importance in promoting brotherhood and harmony in the country, he added.
He said that due to the initiatives taken by the religious circles regarding thalassemia now there is a better awareness in the country. He assured that they would work together in fight against thalassemia.
Abdul Habib Attari, a member of the Central Executive Committee of Dawat-e-Islami, gave him briefing about the religious and welfare activities of Dawat-e-Islami. He informed about the educational and organizational activities being carried out in Faizan e Madina. He said that more than 1.5 million people had been provided facilities under medical services for which more than Rs. 60 million had been spent.
He further that if the industrialists provided the basic Islamic teachings to their employees at workplaces and factories, the society will improve a lot and Allah, the Almighty, will reward them for this.
Abdul Habib Attari said that Dawat-e-Islami had arranged free food for 4 million people. It has so far spent more than Rs 1 billion on Quranic teachings, and other social activities.
