ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet, which is scheduled to meet on Tuesday (Aug 24) with the prime minister in the chair, will discuss the regional geopolitical and economic situation and the progress on electronic voting in the country.
The cabinet will be briefed about the Afghanistan situation, its impact on Pakistan, and the contacts with the key stakeholders.
Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar will brief the cabinet on the Covid situation across the country and measures being taken by the provinces to deal with it.
The cabinet will consider the following agenda items: (i) increase in prices of 37 medicines;(ii) elimination of penal surcharge; (iii) issues of Sector E-11 of the Federal Capital; (iv) appointment of chief statistician; (v) grant of additional charge of Indus Water Commissioner; (vi) appointment of chairman Intellectual Property Organisation Pakistan (IPO-P); (vii) replacement of secretary power at the PSO Board of Directors, and (viii) ratification of the decision of the ECC and the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE).
