Sridevi dies at 54
Actress Sridevi, 54, one of the most celebrated actresses of the Indian film industry has passed away.
The news was confirmed to HuffPost by a member of the actor's family.
According to huffingtonpost.in, the English Vinglish actress was in Dubai for a wedding and suffered a cardiac arrest.
She is survived by husband Boney Kapoor and daughters, Khushi and Janhavi Kapoor.
Bollywood’s legendary actress Sridevi recently won Best Actress Award (Female) for her powerful performance in the movie ‘Mom’ but the actress did not forget to thank her fellow co-stars of the movie while receiving this achievement.
Sridevi was attending the ZeeCine Award Ceremony when Indian star Siddharth Malhotra and Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor came to the stage to announce the award for the category of Best Actor Award (Female). Surprisingly, Boney was announcing the award for the same category in which wife Sridevi was nominated against other leading ladies of Bollywood, including Alia Bhatt and Taapse Pannu.
The actress emotionally thanked the cast of the movie, especially her Pakistani co-stars Adnan and Sajal, whom she referred to as her child. Sridevi also said that she misses Sajal.
Last year before ‘Mom’ was released, Sridevi got emotional in a shared video for not being able to promote the movie with Sajal who had played the role of her daughter in the film. The movie went on doing a fair business and was an average earner of 2017.
