KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 120,050 tonnes of cargo comprising 95,363 tonnes of import cargo and 24,687 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 95,363 comprised of 34,745 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 10,349 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 4,922 tonnes of DAP, 4,120 tonnes of Palm Kernel Expeller and 41,227 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,755 tonnes comprised of 23,377 tonnes of containerized cargo 158 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 1,152 tonnes of Cement.
—Nearly, 4343 containers comprising of 2119 containers import and 2224 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours Thursday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 777 of 20’s and 671 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 00 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 379 of 20’s and 623 of 40’s loaded containers while 187 of 20’s and 206 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Around, 08 ships nametly, Frontier Ace, Sonja, Lian Bai Hu, msc Patnaree III, Wafrah, Global Star, King Baton Rouge and Mohar have berth at Karachi Port.
Nearly, 05 ships namely, Sea Dolphin, Sc Petrel, Kota Naluri, Frontier Ace and Oel Kedarnath have sailed out from Karachi Port on Thursday.
Approximately, 14 cargos namely Poland Cod, Capricornus Leader, Georgia M, Dewi Amparwati, GT Star, TSM Pollux, Stolt Cobalt, Diyala, Rita, Cosco Thailand, Scio Sky, X-Press Anglesey, Northern Dexterity and Good Luck 1 were expected to arrive at the port.
