Increase in raw material prices: Textile industries facing severe difficulties: APTPMA
FAISALABAD: Sheikh Shahid Javed, Regional Chairman, All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA), has said that the processing and textile industries are facing severe difficulties due to significant increase in raw material prices. He said to alleviate these problems, the government should take steps to eliminate customs duties, prevent sales tax evasion and create a grassroots label to create an industry-friendly environment. We are continuing our efforts to moderate the growing exports.
He said that the secret of eradication of unemployment lies in the development of industries, we have high expectations from the government, and we hope that the government will take steps on our issues on priority basis and if the government does not formulate a strategy in time and If this situation continues, the industry will soon shut down and thousands of workers will become unemployed, which will lead to a dangerous increase in unemployment and the wheel of the economy will stop once again.
