LAHORE: Terming the Lahore Central Business District Development Authority (LCBDDA) project as a flagship initiative of the PTI government, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has called for effectively showcasing this project before the foreign investors.

Chairing a meeting of Lahore Central Business District Development Authority at his office to review the progress on the project, the CM said the project which is planned at the prime location of the city over an area of 125 acres will boost trade and economic activities apart creating job opportunities.

CEO Lahore Central Business District Development Authority Imran Amin informed that an 8-acre piece of land of this project has been sold at a record price of Rs. 22 billion which is 165 per cent more than the reserve price.

Moreover, talking to the Vice-Chairman of Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Makhdoom Tariq Mahmood-ul-Hassan, the CM directed to resolve the problems of the expatriate Pakistanis on priority basis. The Pakistanis living aboard are a national asset and their services in national development cannot be ignored, he continued. The government has devised a composite policy to resolve the problems of the expatriate Pakistanis and protection of their rights and properties will be fully ensured, the CM stressed.

Further, talking to a delegation of the National Commission on the Status of Women led by its chairperson Nelofar Bakhtiar, the CM stated that 18 women workers hostels and 1221 daycare centres have been established across Punjab. Similarly, women development centres have also been established in universities for career planning and capacity building in addition to starting online training programmes for the women, he continued.

Meanwhile, a helpline facility is provided to give necessary legal guidance for the solution of women related problems, he said. The government has also strengthened the Violence Against Women Center in Multan and such facilities will also be established in Rawalpindi and other districts to provide prompt institutional support to the women in need, he said.
