ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reconstituted appellate committee on fixation of retail price of sugar, after sugar millers raised objection on the inclusion of Secretary Law in the committee, as he was not a regular employee.
Well informed sources in Ministry of Commerce, told this correspondent that the representatives of sugar millers held a meeting with a two-member appellate committee comprising Secretary Commerce and acting Secretary Law in Commerce on fixation of retail price of sugar on Thursday.

According to sources, during the meeting, representatives of sugar mills raised objection on the presence of Secretary Law in the committee, on the plea that he is a contract employee and also an Additional Secretary which implies that he cannot become member of the Committee.
After the objection, the Committee adjourned hearing, after Secretary Law said that the meeting be postponed so that he may reassess his position to avoid any legal complications and also go through the petitions referred by the Lahore High Court to the Committee, the sources maintained.
