Karachi: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Investment Department and Public Private Partnership Projects Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar on Tuesday underscored the need of highlighting Sindh's rich culture besides showcasing investment opportunities in the ongoing Dubai Expo.

He was presiding over a meeting of Sindh Investment Department held here at Finance and Trade Center.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Investment Department Sindh Bilal Ahmed, Secretary Livestock and Fisheries Ejaz Ahmed Mahesar, Secretary Energy Sindh Abu Bakar Ahmed Madani and senior officers of other departments of Sindh including Planning and Development, Finance, Agriculture, Local Government, Transport, Irrigation, Health, Environment and Climate Department, Coastal Development and Public Private Partnership Unit.

During the briefing, it was informed that Dubai Expo has started from October 1, 2021 and would continue till March 31, 2022.

Almost 190 countries are participating in Dubai Expo, the world's largest trade fair, and more than 25 million people are expected to visit the exhibition.

Government of Pakistan is also participating in Dubai Expo to highlight Pakistan's culture, tourism, history, landscape, heritage, people, business, trade, investment, values and achievements.

The meeting was told that to represent the provinces in the Pakistani pavilion, the provincial governments are also being provided an opportunity to display their investment opportunities, cultural values and other economic venues.

On this occasion, Qasim Naveed Qamar said that Dubai Expo was providing the best opportunity for all the concerned departments of the Sindh government and it was necessary that with the help of Dubai Expo we could show the world all the opportunities which could boost our relations and economic opportunities.

He said: "We can also highlight colourful culture of Sindh at this expo and show that Sindh is also a peaceful province."

Qamar said that Sindh has to exhibit its investment opportunities and cultural values in the Pakistani pavilion at Dubai Expo in December. He said: "We should highlight all our products which are in demand in the international market."

In the meeting, the officers of all the concerned departments were asked to submit the detailed suggestions, opinions, recommendations and the success stories of their departments to the office of the Department of Investment within a week.
