Pakistan and Iran's military leaders agreed to further improve bilateral defence cooperation and work together as a joint effort to tackle terrorism that remains a common enemy, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Pakistan and Iran are two brotherly countries and our close cooperation is vital for regional peace and stability,” Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa was quoted as saying by the ISPR while meeting with Chief of General Staff (CGS) of Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Major General Mohammad Bagheri.
Major General Mohammad Bagheri expressed the desire for further strengthening the bilateral military to military ties particularly in counter-terrorism and training domains.
Earlier, upon arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, a tri-services contingent presented ‘Guard of Honour’ to the visiting dignitary.
