ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) central leaders said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has “destroyed” the institutions and now it is trying to make an institution like the army controversial.

The PPP also demanded that the prime minister should apologise for calling the Pashtun nation, “terrorist”.

These views were expressed by PPP Central Secretary Information Faisal Karim Kundi, former member National Assembly Akhunzada Chitan, Senator Rubina Khalid, and Syed Sibtul Hassan Bukhari, in a joint press conference, on Wednesday.

They were accompanied by PPP Media Coordinator Nazir Dhoki and Raja Noor Elahi.

Kundi said, “the appointment of the DG ISI has been made controversial by the “selected” prime minister. The government has given an opportunity to the media of the enemy country to criticise our forces.”

He said that the nation was saddened by the demise of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.

Pakistan lost a great personality with the demise of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.

He said that the government did not fulfill the will of Dr Qadeer for burial in Faisal Mosque.

He said that the government did not honour Dr Qadeer Khan.

He said, “I want to tell Imran Khan that the former tribal areas had guarded the borders for 60 years. The party condemns Imran Khan’s declaration of the Pashtun nation as terrorists. Imran Khan should apologise to the nation for declaring Pashtuns as terrorists.”

Kundi said that the details of the gifts in the treasury should be brought before the nation.

He said that opposition parties should unite and get rid of this “selected and puppet” government by bringing a no-confidence motion in Punjab and the Centre.

He said that inflation has made life miserable for the people against which the PPP is protesting all over the country.

He said that the government is playing with the future of young doctors.

He also condemned the police brutality at the press conference of eunuchs.

Akhunzada Chitan said that the Taliban never spoke of Pashtuns or nationalism.

“The Taliban was based in Kandahar where they fought Pashtun leaders. Asfandyar Wali, Mahmood Achakzai, Manzoor Pashteen, and Aftab Sherpao have never supported the Taliban.”

He said that before the jihadi culture was introduced, there was no such thing as crime in the entire tribal districts.
