LAHORE: All is set to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) on Tuesday (today) with religious fervor and zeal, renewing the pledge to disseminate teachings of Allah Almighty's last Messenger Muhammad (PBUH).

The day will dawn with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals, to pay homage to Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Special prayers will be offered in the mosques for peace, progress and prosperity of the country, besides early liberation of Palestine and Kashmir.

The government has already announced holiday on Tuesday, to mark the day in a befitting manner. All the government and private offices, markets and shopping centres will remain closed. Newspapers will bring out special supplements while TV channels will present programmes highlighting the life and teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Prime Minister Imran Khan has already directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) across the country in an unprecedented manner. He has also directed the federal ministers and members of parliament to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi in their constituencies with full zeal.

Milad processions will be taken out and Naatia programmes and Quran Khwani will be organized across the country. The main feature of the day will be a National Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference being organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Religious scholars representing various schools of thought and a large number of people will attend the conference. Security was stepped up and security personnel would be deployed along the procession routes. Special meals will be presented to inmates of old houses, orphanages, hospitals and shelter homes. The philanthropists will distribute meal among the people on this day.

The Punjab government has finalised all arrangements to celebrate Eid Milad-un- Nabi (PBUH) on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Mashaikh Ulema conference and Milad was held in which Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was chief guest. Speakers in the conference highlighted Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). About 6,000 policemen will be deployed for security of all central processions, meetings and rallies in the provincial capital on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
