All main rivers including Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal. According to Federal Flood Commission here on Sunday, Tarbela and Mangla Dams are at elevations of 1439.68 feet and 1169.05 feet respectively, which are 60.32 feet and 72.95 feet below their respective Maximum Conservation Levels of 1550.00 feet and 1242.00 feet.
Today's combined live storage position of Tarbela, Chashma and Mangla reservoirs is 6.312 MAF as compared to last year's 10.592 MAF. According to Floor Forecasting Division (FFD), Lahore, Yesterday's Monsoon Low over North-western Bay of Bengal today lies over Eastern Chattisgarh (India).
Seasonal Low lies over North-western Balochistan. Yesterday's Westerly Wave over North-western Iran today lies over Northern Iran.
Monsoon current is penetrating into Kashmir and adjoining areas upto 4000 feet. The weather system is being closely monitored by the Pakistan Meteorological Department. As predicated by the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), Lahore, scattered thunderstorm/ rain with isolated heavy falls is expected over Kashmir, Northern and North-eastern Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore Division) and upper catchments of Rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej during the next 24 hours, isolated thunderstorm/ rain may also occur over Sargodha Division during the same period.
No significant rainfall event has been reported by FFD, Lahore during the past 24 hours. All concerned are being kept informed by the Flood Warning Centre, Lahore on round the clock basis.
