In order to promote peace and trade, a delegation of leading Pakistan parliamentarians crossed Wahga border for a four-day visit to India on Wednesday. Secretary General Pakistan People''s Party (PPP) Senator Jahangir Badr led the delegation, which included political luminaries like Sabir Baloch, Faisal Karim Kundi, Nafeesa Shah, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Khurram Dastgir, Shazia Marri and Haji Adeel.
Talking to media at the Wagha border, the delegation head Senator Jahangir Badr vowed to take forward the official dialogue to public level. He said trade, education, health and tourism among all issues would be discussed in the recent visit. Badr said Saarc Chamber of Commerce of both the countries would be interacting under the same dialogue.
He said the delegation is visiting India for moving the peace process forward and enhance trade on the government level. Badr said the delegation would hold meetings with Indian officials on issues such as trade, education, health, tourism among others.
"We would discuss co-operation in trade, education and healthcare and the resolution of issues such as the Kashmir dispute in meetings with our Indian counterparts," he added. India has recently decided to allow direct foreign investment from Pakistan, a step warmly welcomed by the Pakistani officials. The independent circles take it as a way forward to address conflicting issues and resolve disputes such as Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek and water disputes.
