Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo in anticipation of forthcoming monsoon rains has warned the contactors of Hyderabad Development Package to remain in Headquarter and complete all drainage schemes with qualitative work within shortest possible time failing which action would be taken against them.
Presiding over a meeting to review the development works of HDP at his camp office, the Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad said that those who found involved in substandard and slow pace of development work have to face termination or forfeit of their contract/security deposit. He said that the government is investing huge money to facilitate the people and each organisation must have to ensure efficient delivery to the people.
He directed the contactors/ officers concerned not to compromise on the quality of works and made it clear that no one would be paid without quality certification of the consultants. He directed the officers to ensure that all the newly laid sewerage lines are connected with main drainage net, all the leakages/ facility connections of water supply and sewerage lines are properly repaired, all the sewerage lines and nullas are properly desilted and all the pumping stations are in ready position to work. He said that the forthcoming rainfall would be test case for the organisation concerned.
The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad also directed the officers to complete the on-going development schemes of the roads, specially pending work of Autobhan road. He also directed the officers to identify loop holes, if any in drainage system in advance so that some may be addressed well in time. He said that the main objective of Hyderabad Development Package was to convert the
Hyderabad into a modern city where each citizen should have all basic facilities with healthy environment. He asked the officers to complete their development works with missionary spirit rather than treating it as liability. All the officers and consultants of HDP and Revenue officers attended the meeting. During the deliberation in the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner was informed that 250 Km sewerage lines falls only in Qasimabad Taluka.
He was informed that work on commissioning / testing of newly sewerage lines, desilting of old lines and cleanliness drives were in progress. Responding the problems raised by participants about security of their development material at the site, the Divisional Commissioner assured them that he to ask District Police for taking action but they (the contractors) should depute their own chowkidars for the security of their material.
Responding on other problems about the drainage, problems of the colonies, that have not been taken over by the Municipal Administration and were lacking the government investment for their drainage and communication facilities, the Divisional Commissioner took notice of the situation and asked his administration to call meeting of all stakeholders in next week.
