At least 15 candidates have been elected unopposed as member of Central Executive Committee of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) against the vacant seats. It is learnt unofficially here on Wednesday. According to details, 16 candidates have filed their nomination papers against the 15 vacant seats. All the elected candidates belonged to Ginners group headed by Haji Muhammad Akram.
They were declared successful when Muhammad Naeem Shafiq of Rahimyarkhan withdrew his candidature as per decision of the group. Those who have been elected unopposed are Muhammad Burhan Fareed (Ahmed pur Sharqia), Chaudhry Inamul Haq (Khanpur) Sardar Khalil Ahmed Aliani, Syed Farasat Abbas Naqvi (Dera Ghazi Khan), Iftikhar Ali Javed (Rajanpur), Mehtab Ahmed Cheema (Rahim Yar Khan) Rana Shahid Hussain (Jhang) Mudassar Hussain (Pir Mahal), Muhammad Javed Iqbal (Bahawal Nagar) Rana Muhammad Saleem (Khanewal) Dr Javed Iqbal (Burewala) Mehesh Kumar (Dehraki) Prem Chand (Naushehro Feroz) Ghulam Rabbani Khilji (Kotri) and Seth Prem Chand Kohistani (Shehdadpur-Sangarh). PCGA Chairman Amanullah Qureshi said that ginners group maintained its supremacy this year too with the co-operation of the ginners.
