“The glass is half full.”

“I don’t get you.”

“The glass is half full in the battle of the ribbons and need I add the English word ribbons does not even come close to expressing the sentiment of the Urdu word feetay…”

“Ah yes indeed, but feetay in Urdu is also used for shoe laces while in English a ribbon is for the hair…””

“Whose hair?”

“A young girl with a pony-tail is what I see!”

“And I see Gandapur wearing a ribbon to discipline his locks.”

“Not true, I have never seen Gandapur tying his hair, he disciplines his hair with a surfeit of oil.”

“And that’s about the sum of his willingness to succumb to any discipline!”

“Indeed, so Election Commission of Pakistan eat your heart out.”

“Ha, ha, so do you reckon Gandapur will pay the Rs 50,000 penalty for violating the code of conduct in an election…”

“What he did was in the national interest I reckon so it can be billed to the taxpayers…anyway he is an extremely resourceful fellow – and he is more than a match for Maryam Nawaz in the audio-video game for throne…”

“It was game of thrones not for throne.”

“I keep telling you one has to amend the Western proverbs/titles to suit our temperament. Anyway you do recall his video from New York…”

“Hmmm, but do you think Maryam Nawaz has understood that audios and videos will give her air time for some time but not for long and as far as benefits are concerned – none.”

“Politics in Pakistan is about never ever learning from the past. Anyway I challenge Maryam Nawaz to produce audios and/or videos to prove that Nawaz Sharif cut more feetays than The Khan.”

“I think she will lose - I mean The Khan seems to have taken to feetays as a duck to water – he is cutting more than two to three feetay per day these days…unless…unless she can produce an audio of the chief…”

“I do hope you did not mean army-chief when you said chief?”

“Good heavens no I meant the navy chief.”

“Not funny my friend, not funny.”
