The government food safety officers and food inspectors will regularly carry out checking of hotels, restaurants, marriage halls and canteens in their respective towns as sanitary conditions and contaminated water also breeds larva. This was decided at a meeting presided over by Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor here on Friday wherein teams for eradication of dengue fever were constituted under Food Authority.
Secretary Food Irfan Ali and DG Food Authority were also present in the meeting Secretary Food, while giving briefing to the Provincial Minister, informed that Food Authority had started checking of various towns from July 2 for the elimination of dengue under which warning had been issued to hotels, restaurants and eateries in the first phase. He said action would be taken against the owners failing to improve the cleanliness and sanitary condition from August 27, and besides fine, punishment will also be awarded.
