Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Metro Bus Service is a unique and splendid project in the history of the country which will bring a revolutionary change in the provincial metropolis transport system.
Sharif presided over a high level meeting which reviewed progress of Metro Bus Service Project and other matters. Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chairman P&D, Secretaries of Finance, Transport and Information departments as well as authorities of Nespak attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Sharif said with the execution of this international standard project, rapid and best transport will be available to citizens and a new look will be given to Lahore.
"Metro Bus Service is such a project of Punjab government which will reduce the gulf between the rich and the poor and persons travelling in their vehicles will prefer to travel through metro bus", he added.
He said the best transport system is identity of civilised societies and Punjab government has taken solid measures for improving transport system. Due to metro bus service, precious time of the people will be saved and they will reach their destinations in time and the commuters will be rid of the inconvenience of waiting at bus stops. He said that speedy completion of development projects, transparency and quality is the policy of the Punjab government and completion of metro bus service project will also be unprecedented. He said that national resources were looted in the name of development projects during the previous tenure of dictatorship. He said that development projects of Punjab government are corruption free and public welfare project of metro bus service will also be completed speedily in a transparent manner.
