“On Wednesday history was made.”

“Right, Boris Johnson was the butt of jokes because he acknowledged and apologized for organizing a working party as in food and booze, on the lines of a working lunch, at Downing Street while he had imposed strict lockdown on the rest of the country…”

“Please note that irrespective of the last elections when Boris Johnson led the Conservatives to an overwhelming victory, his own party members have asked for his resignation….”

“Hmmm, I guess Brand Johnson has kinda taken a beating.”

“I know where you want to go with your reference to brands but when I said history was made on Wednesday I meant something else.”

“Hmmm, I know what you are referring to - that The Khan went a calling to the ISI headquarters where reportedly the Army Chief was present and it was the Prime Minister’s office that released the information.”

“That doesn’t mean it was a non-event for the army.”

“Agreed, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t either.”

“Oh you do love your conspiracy theories anyway that’s not what I was referring to when I said history was made on Wednesday.”

“What happened? Pervez Khattak has already hedged his political bets, his brother has joined…”

“Has Sheikha Rashid said anything after the admission that he made a mistake in Murree – a mistake! For Pete’s sake it was a howler and I wonder if he will ever be given any portfolio in future by the powers that be.”

“Hope not, but I am sure he will not get Interior again…”

“Perhaps Climate Change in memory of The Khan!”

“Ha ha, right like one hopes Hafeez Sheikh never gets Finance again or Dar for that matter…”

“I reckon Hafeez Sheikh should get interprovincial coordination because he would scupper it within a year and let’s be honest that ministry costs us taxpayers’ money and to-date it has nothing to show…”

“And Dar?”

“Accountant General.”

“But all the accounting he did for the Sharifs and for the country had no finesse.”

“There is a silver lining this time: if Nawaz Sharif remains outside the country then he would need his trusty sidekick with him…”

“Don’t be facetious, but anyway when I said that history was made on Wednesday I was referring to The Khan remaining silent the entire day, not delivering any lecture to the general public on themes that ad nauseum he has been hurling at us for months on end……”
