Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government has implemented a revolutionary development programme for the welfare of the masses during the last four and a half years in Punjab as a result of which there is a network of various projects throughout the province.
He said that the very important thing is that contrary to the plundering of previous government, new culture of transparency and merit has been introduced. He said that a phase-wise improvement has been made in education, health, infrastructure and other sectors under a comprehensive strategy.
He was talking to a delegation of office-bearers and workers of PML-N, here on Monday. Shahbaz said that corruption and malpractices have been eliminated by promoting good governance in Punjab province and now after four and a half years, there is no accusation of corruption against Punjab government rather we feel pride of pursuing the policies of merit and transparency. He said that PML-N government does not believe only power for the sake of power but considers the power a best source of service to the people.
He said that if intention and direction is correct, every difficult task can become easy and PML-N government took very difficult decisions for service to the people during the last four and a half years. The Chief Minister said that comprehensive planning and concrete measures have been taken during current year for eradication of the problems which were created due to the unexpected severe attack of dengue during last year and government machinery has been fully activated with the co-operation of elected representatives, people and workers of PML-N.
He said that every possible step is being taken for protection of human lives which is yielding positive results. He said that the experience gained by the concerned departments for controlling dengue attack previous year is being utilised for facing this fatal virus courageously. He said that Emergency Response Committees set up in various towns of provincial metropolis are taking steps for eradication of dengue larvae at suspected places and now the situation is fully under control during the current season and expressed the hope that we will overcome this menace by bringing change in social approach with the co-operation of people in future as well.
PML-N office-bearers and workers during the meeting while expressing their full confidence in the party leadership and its policies said that the way Punjab government started comprehensive programmes for service to the masses, the other provincial governments are also following it.
