Novelist Bushra Rehman passes away
LAHORE: Acclaimed novelist and former MNA Bushra Rehman passed away in Lahore. She was 78.
Born in August 1944 in Bahawalpur, Bushra Rehman did MA in Journalism from Punjab University. She married Mian Abdul Rehman, an industrialist from Lahore. She started her political journey in 1983 and became a member of the Punjab Assembly in 1985 and 1988.
Bushra Rehman wrote 17 novels and travelogues. Her famous writings include Allah Mian Ji, Bahisht, Barah-e-Raast, Bout Shikan, Chaand Say Na Khelo, Chara Gar, Chup, Ek Aawara Ki Khatir, Khubsurat, Kis Morr Par Milay Ho, Laazawal, Lala Sehrai, Lagan, Pyaasi, Sharmeely, Tere Sung Dar Ki Talaash Thi and Tuk Tuk Deedam Tokyo. She was also the recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) for her contributions in literature.
