Jazz launches Pakistan's first 4G enabled smart feature phone
One of the largest mobile networks of Pakistan, Jazz, the merger of Mobilink and Warid, has launched a 4G enabled ‘smart’ feature phone for Pakistani customers.
Named ‘Digit 1’, it is a collaboration of Jazz and Qualcomm for launching the first 4G feature phone under #4GforAll initiative that is aimed at increasing 4G consumption and usability in Pakistan. The launch is in line with Jazz’s promise to introduce reasonable priced products and services in a bid to link the prevailing digital divide.
The Jazz branded smart feature phone offers six months of free 4G internet and a free data SIM card. Popular social media applications including YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp are supported by the phone. The phone has a touchscreen, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi hotspot, 2,000mAh battery life, a 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 512MB ROM and 4GB storage.
Jazz is now offering advanced vehicle tracking service
Being the first ever Qualcomm powered 4G smart feature phone, Digit 1 can prove to be a game changer in the feature phone market since people would be able to use these social media apps for the first time in a feature phone, reported Tech Juice.
Muhammad Ali Khan, Jazz’s Head of Devices exclaimed in a press release, “We are constantly looking for avenues to provide our customers with the best in-class and affordable services and products. The launch of Jazz Digit 1 enables our customers to use our fastest 4G network to reach out to their loved ones over social media in a cost effective manner.”
For now, Jazz Digit 1 is available at Jazz Experience centers and franchises all across the country only for PKR 5,300 accompanied with Digit’s official warranty program for a year, as per Jazz.
