KARACHI: President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Irfan Iqbal Shaikh has appointed prominent businessman Abid Nisar as chairman of the Pakistan Indonesia Business Council of FPCCI for 2022.
The members of the council’s board of directors are Mr Nisar, Muhammad Saqib Goodluck, Muhammad Zohaib Khan, Naveed Usman Memon Pirani, Muhammad Naseem, Sohail Nisar, Muhammad Yahya Bari, Shehzad Ahmad and Ahmad Ali Anjum.
Considering the great services rendered by Mr Nisar, he has been given the responsibility for the second time in a row. He has the honour of being the first entrepreneur whose firm was presented with the prestigious Primaduta Award by the Indonesian government for outstanding performance in trade between the two countries.
Mr Nisar has decades of experience in exports, imports and also serves as member of the managing committee of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the import and anti-smuggling sub-committee. He has also served as a life member of the All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association, former vice chairman and chairman of various standing committees and a member of the Rotary Club.
FPCCI President Irfan Shaikh has expressed the desire that the Pakistan Indonesia Business Council becomes more active and also resolves problems that are faced by the business community for doing business with Indonesia.
“The aim of this business council is to promote and enhance trade ties, collaboration in bilateral trade promotion activities, joint ventures, investment opportunities and exchange of trade delegations between Pakistan and Indonesia as well as participation in fairs and exhibition; in this regard, FPCCI will provide every possible assistance,” he said.
