KARACHI: The inflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into Pakistan increased to $170.6 million in April 2022 against an outflow of $30.4 million in March 2022.
The inflow of FDI is slightly higher, ie, by 1.0 percent in April 2022 as compared to $169 million in April 2021.
Telecom industry attracts $6.1bn FDI in less than 4 years
On cumulative basis, the inflow of FDI has slightly declined by 1.6 percent to $1.455 billion during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year (FY22) as compared to $1.480 billion came into the country in the corresponding period in previous fiscal year (FY21).
During April 2022, over $40.3 million of FDI came from the US followed by $22.3 million from China and $17.5 million from UAE.
The power sector attracted net FDI of $39.3 million in April 2022 while $24.4 million came in the financial business and $23.5 million in electronic sector during this month.
