PESHAWAR: In line with its commitment to better serving customers and expanding its footprint to make banking convenient and more accessible, the Bank of Khyber (BoK) has inaugurated a modern Islamic banking branch at the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) and a conventional branch at the Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar.

Consistent with the bank’s image of promoting innovation, the spacious branches are uniquely futuristic in their offering, providing customers with state-of-the-art facilities enclosed within a cultural yet modern design.

The branches were inaugurated by provincial Minister for Finance and Health Taimur Khan Jhagra, BoK’s Managing Director and CEO Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz, Minister for Higher Education Kamran Bangash, and KMU’s Vice Chancellor Dr Zia Ul Haq, in the presence of senior officials of the bank, said a statement issued on Monday.

It said the initiative is in line with the BoK’s agenda of diversity and its vision of creating a more diverse and equitable workforce, as well as the need to increase the engagement of women in financial services.

The bank has been recruiting an increasing number of women across all business functions, ensuring they are provided with equal opportunities for advancement and success. Both the branches are managed by female staff.

Speaking on the occasion, BoK’s Managing Director and CEO Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz said: “As KPK’s largest bank, BoK strives to place itself at the forefront of the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) agenda. We have a strong mandate to improve the bank’s gender diversity by recruiting women at all levels... and fostering a diverse work environment through progressive policies.”
